Your privacy

This notice explains what personal information the house receives through this website, why it is needed and how it is protected.

Notice

How the house treats personal information

Who is responsible

The operator of the venue, named on the From the ground up page and in the footer, is responsible for the personal information received through this website. Day-to-day handling is carried out by the host and the floor manager at the house, who have access to reservations and to nothing else.

Cookies and similar technology

This website stores two small records in your browser and displays an embedded map. These are described in full on the Cookie settings page, which also explains how to remove them. Nothing described there is used to build a profile of any visitor.

Minors

The house and this website are intended for adults only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a reservation has been made by or for a minor, the request is declined, and the details are deleted promptly.

Security

Reservation details are held on systems protected by passwords and restricted to the staff who need them. Paper records, including the reservation book, are kept at the house and are not removed. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to prevent loss, misuse or unauthorised access.

Asking about your information

Anyone may ask what information the house holds about them, ask for it to be corrected or ask for it to be deleted. Requests may be made by telephone, by email to the address in the footer or in person at the door. We reply within a few working days and do not charge for answering.

Information entered in forms

The reservation form asks for a name, an email address, a preferred date and time, the size of the party and any notes you wish to add. A telephone number is optional. The form never asks for payment details, identification documents or any financial information, as nothing on this website is bought or sold.

What the information is used for

Information is used to reply to a request, to confirm or amend a reservation and to contact a guest about a change on the evening. It is not used for advertising, is not sold or lent to any other organisation and is not combined with information from any other source.

Why we are entitled to use it

We use the information because the guest has asked us to: sending the form is a request for a reservation, and replying to it is how the request is fulfilled. If we wished to use the information for any other purpose, we would ask first and would explain what that purpose was.

Retention and changes

Reservation details are kept for about a year after the evening concerned, then deleted. This notice may be revised from time to time, and the version on this page is the one in force. Material changes will be indicated at the top of the page, and the Australian Privacy Principles guide our practice throughout.
