The address, the telephone line and the hours of the house, with directions from the Great Northern Highway.
Directions and arrangements
The house stands on High Street, a short distance from the Great Northern Highway as it passes through town. Visitors arriving from either direction should follow the signs to the town centre, turn into High Street and look for the long, low building with a deep verandah and two lamps above the door.
Parking is available along the kerb in front of the building, and on the side street. The verandah lamps are lit from the first light of evening, and the front door is opened at half past five on every evening that the house is open. Guests arriving earlier are welcome to wait on the verandah.
The telephone is answered during opening hours and from three o'clock in the afternoon on the days the house is open. Outside those times, a message may be left, and every message is returned on the following day. Email is read each morning, and replies are sent in the order received.
Accessible parking, a ramp at the side entrance and level floors throughout are provided. Assistance dogs are welcome. Please mention any requirement when you reserve, and we shall make the necessary arrangements before you arrive.
Guests travelling a long distance are encouraged to telephone from the road when they are an hour away. The host will confirm that a table is ready and, if the weather has turned, suggest a safe place to rest for the night. The staff would much rather take a call from a tired traveller than hear later that someone pressed on too far.

About contacting the house
When is the telephone answered?
From three o'clock in the afternoon on every day the house is open, and throughout the evening. Calls in the morning go to a recorded message, and Caroline returns them on the same day when she can.
How soon will an email be answered?
Email is read every morning, and replies are sent in the order received. A reservation request usually receives an answer on the same day, though a busy weekend may delay it until the following morning.
Is the house easy to find from the highway?
Yes. High Street runs off the highway at the centre of town, and the house is on the left as you arrive from the south. After dark, the two lamps above the door can be seen from the corner.
